Inaugural Ross and Muriel Cheriton Distinguished Visitor Lecture

Conducted and moderated by David R. Cheriton, the inaugural Ross and Muriel Cheriton Distinguished Visitor Lecture highlights the work U of A graduate students and their supervisors.

A joint event between the Festival of Ideas and the Faculty of Engineering, the "Rising Stars of Engineering" event put the spotlight on some of the most promising research happening today at the University of Alberta, from artificial limbs that allow wearers to feel touch, to nanomechancial sensors that could detect minute amounts of explosives or lead to new medical diagnostics, and innovative ways that lasers are being used to help understand and possibly repair neural systems.
