Student Life

Become part of the community
Sometimes it can be hard to feel like you are part of the community when you start at a new school. Joining a student club or project is an easy way to make that connection and feel like you are part of a team. Getting involved during your degree is a great way to make sure you are getting the most out of your university experience. You'll develop new skills, discover new passions, and form friendships that last a lifetime.

Get involved

The Faculty of Engineering has one of the most active student bodies on campus, with a myriad of clubs and student team projects to get involved in. You can get involved in student governance at a high level, or join a student project and represent the Faculty at regional, national and international engineering competitions. Can't find a club in the Faculty? Then try one of the over 400 U of A student groups on campus.

Whether they're sharing their experiences at an international competition or navigating their way through their first year of studies, our Engineering bloggers tell it like it is. Stay on top of what's going on in the Faculty with our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Enhance your education
You may find that you have an interest in research--and the Faculty offers many opportunities for undergraduate students.

You can work toward your U of A engineering degree in Canada or even abroad: the U of A and the Faculty of Engineering have agreements with universities around the world, enabling you to study while you learn about new cultures.
