Applying to Engineering

You’ve done your research and now it's time to submit your application to the Faculty of Engineering. Depending on where you are in your education and where you are from, there are different requirements for completing your application and admission. If you have never been to a post-secondary institution or are entering directly from high school, please consult the High School Student section below.

High School Students
If you are a current high school student or the last course work you completed was at the high school level, you need to follow the steps on How to Apply to submit your application. Once you have submitted an application please consult the High School Students page for information on admission requirements, submitting your official documents, and completing your application.

Transfer Students
If you are currently enrolled at the U of A, another post-secondary institution or have previously taken courses at the post-secondary level and wish to enroll in our Undergraduate Program, you need to follow the steps on How to Apply to submit your application. Once your application has been submitted, please consult the Transfer Students page for information on admission requirements, submitting your official documents, and completing your application.

International Students
If you are a student from outside of Canada, there may be additional steps you need to go through when finalizing your admission. To apply please follow the steps on How to Apply, then consult the High School Student or Transfer Student page (whichever is applicable) and then consult the International Student page.

Graduate Students
If you already have an undergraduate engineering degree and wish to apply to either a Masters or Doctoral program offered through the Faculty of Engineering at the U of A, please consult the Graduate Student page as the process for admission to graduate studies is different from the process for applying to an undergraduate program, which is outlined on How to Apply.
