For the past five decades the University of Alberta has offered the only accredited BSc Petroleum Engineering degree program in the country. Situated in Canada’s primary oil and natural gas producing region, we have a distinct advantage in being able to develop a program that is strongly linked with the petroleum industry. We are nationally and internationally recognized for the reputation of our faculty, the quality of our research, and the capabilities of our graduates. Our curriculum is comprehensive and encompasses all three disciplines within the field, including drilling, reservoir, and production engineering. We place a strong emphasis on reservoir engineering, particularly in the areas of enhanced oil recovery processes, heavy oils, and oilsands recovery technology.
